About two years ago, whilst cycling through Porthkerry Country Park in town, I had cycled through what is known as the Mill Wood, and had entered the park, and stopped to take an 'arty' shot of the trees. What had originally inspired me to take the shot was the bare tree trunks against the hillside they were on. Anyway, stopping the bike, and standing astride it, I took the first pic. My camera shows a quick preview of the image you have just taken for about 3 seconds, and when I saw the first picture I was somewhat confused, so I retook the shot, and there was nothing!
Now, the weather conditions were not foggy but there was a rainy mist in the air as Picture 3 shows, but visibility is good, and what is shown on Picture 1, was certainly not there in front of me. The only conclusion I can come to myself is that the camera's lens must have misted up because of the temperature. The camera had previously been on my desk at home, and I had put it into its camera bag which is quite well padded, and perhaps exposing it to a colder temperature might have done this. Although, there was not much of a difference in time between taking the first and the second photograph, and there are small circle like dots on the second picture if you look close enough.
What are your thoughts? Have you got any other explanation as to what this could be? Have you perhaps taken any photographs like this or similar? Email me, I'd love to hear from you!
