Rain, grey skies, the worst flooding in parts of the country for 300 years - good old British Summers you can't beat them!! Its the end of July nearly August and we'd yet to have a barbaque, and on Thursday of this week I'd decided that regardless of the weather we should go ahead and have a barbaque anyway. If the worst came to the worst we could cook the food in the shelter of my garage door! Guess how it turned out!!! The weather had turned for the worst, the neighbours said it was too cold to BBQ, my sister Ceri said she'd have no part in sitting in the garage to eat, so showing true British spirit the show went on regardless!!! The smoke from the BBQ was billowing around in the garage and it wasnt very nice to sit in there, so we ended up getting a fan from the house to place at the back of the garage to blow the smoke out! It turned out that one fan at the back of the garage wasn't enough, so we needed to get another fan, and and extention cord to position the fans closer to where we were sat! Giving it about 5 mins, the smoke was dispersed, and we continued bravely on! We had a laugh though, especially when someone drove past and gave us a "What the hell???" kind of look! We were adament that we were not going to let the terrible weather that we've had so far, from ruining our summer fun!!
The second set of pictures is from Summer 2006 when Jenny and Stuart next door bought themselves a new gas barbaque. So I had suggested we try it out! Stuart had spent the morning assembling the thing in the garage, then spent the afternoon assembling his new garden furniture, and when I got home from work, I went to get a gas bottle for it, and some food! There was some doubts, surprise surprise as to weather the weather would hold out for us, as it had clouded over a little, which was a shame as it had been so nice all day. Nevertheless, we had been looking forward to it all day, and it wasnt cold despite the fact it was a little grey!
