I work in a public library and I thoroughly enjoyed your latest book "Arlington". The story is beautifully written and the illustrations are exquisite. I'm sure you are honored by your father's part in our country's heritage. I truly appreciate you sharing this story with the world.

Hey Chris,
Teaching second grade in Cape Cod and the teacher I work with does a unit on the coast guard and brought in this great book. Of course I recognized your name but wasn't sure these paintings were your work because the style is so different from what I remember when I read No Peas for Nellie back in third grade at Brearley! Long time no see! I read that you and wife (name?) and Ethan live in NH. Not so far away...Anyeay, it's great to see that you're still thriving as an artist and beyond. My two kids are 16 (Oliver and Phoebe)and 14. I'm writing poetry when not teaching and life is very full. Kate M. and I just went down to NYC together for our 30th! Take care, old pal...

Chris, I absolutely love your watercolor of the USCGAux bugler!
I play those 24 notes often.

Still looking good, Chris. Still have two of your drawings, ca. 1974 - one of me reading the NY Times at the North Pleasant Street house and the other a drawing you did while we were driving across the US of A in my '67 Chevy pickup. The kids (now fully grownup) had your book about the bird on Boston Common (sorry, forget his name) and loved it. I see that we have a few more titles to pick up....
