My work documenting adventure started as a volunteer firefighter and writing and illustrating several books on that subject. Firefighters A to Z (McElderry Books/Simon&Schuster) being the first (NY Times Best Book 2000). I went on to do books on the Hurricane Hunters and the US Coast Guard. Working with the Coast Guard, of which I'm now an active Auxiliarist (Flotilla 28/Portsmouth NH), I've documented a burial at Arlington National Cemetery as well as other air and water operations from Cape Cod (MA) to Charleston S.C.
