Puerto Rico is Carribean's 4th largest island. Part of the USA, however, it does make one feel like you are in a foreign country. The people in general are definitely not as nice as they are in Hawaii. We decided to go in February because it is one of the driest months and it was good to get away from the Denver cold. The high temperatures were from 85 to 89 degrees every day and the water temperature was a perfect 85 degrees. We visited one of the Spanish Virgin Islands--Culebra, which is located halfway between Puerto Rico and St Thomas. Some of the other islands that we visited were Coicos Island, Mata la Gata and Gilligan's Island--all 3 are uninhabited. We had our fair share of the local Medallia beer and empanadas every day and the local Puerto Rican cuisine rocks! Click on the picture below to open that gallery.
