Kossovo Palace (Brest Region, Ivatsevichy District) was laid in 1838 by the military commander K.Puslovsky and his son in the Merachovshchyna nature reserve.
The palace was burned down in WW2 in 1944 and never rebuild.
Near this palace is the (now restored by USA-grant) country-seat birthplace of Tadeush Kostyushko (1746-1817).
In 1776 at the age of 20 Kostyushko left for America and took part in the fight for the freedom of the North American colonies. He soon became General George Washington's chief engineer and strategist, contributing to the decisive American victory at the Battle of Saratoga in 1777.
Back in Europe he was a mayor power in the 1794 uprise against Russia.
My last name is Kostyushko too and I was just wondering if i'm related to him in anyway I dont think so but but it interesting to know that someone has soma last name and I feel good that someone takes care of these historic places.
