Yap is world-famous for it's mantas, which are resident year-round. This large female was photographed at the deep cleaning station in Miil Channel in August 2002. The conditions were not ideal for photography (15 - 20 ft viz) but four mantas spent long enough with us to put several of us into deco. Magical indeed. ©2002 John A. Scarlett, MD
