Rainbow Pitta photos - pitta iris

These colourful little guys, endemic to the Top End I found quite tricky to get
good views/photos of. They would hop around in the leaf litter often partly concealed
by foliage of the forest floor. On our last day I was extra patient and lucky,
'stalking' one for a little while but often having to hide behind trees and wait for
the sound of crunching leaf litter to get closer. My best but brief opportunity was
when he hopped across a road - and I was ready for him then! I got to see the
Rainbow Pitta at Eden at Fogg Dam, Ubirr and Tumbling Waters Holiday Park
