"A Year On - Remembering Black Saturday"

7th February 2009 ("Black Saturday") - fires devastated parts of Victoria, claiming lives and property including Barreges Pyreneans.
Vivienne and David James of St Andrews, near Kinglake in Victoria, lost so much: their home and possessions, beloved Pyrenean Mountain Dogs and other animals.

7th February 2010 marked the anniversary of Black Saturday. We drove out to St Andrews and Kinglake, the nearest "black saturday" area to where we live.
The day was sunny, bright with glimpses of hope on a day of mourning and reflection for many. Here are a selection of images from:
