Canberra Festival Balloon Spectacular held in early Autumn near Old Parliament House.
These images show the inflated hot air balloons, some ready for take off and others already
up in the sky gently floating away. Some balloons remain tethered for demonstration purposes.
Hot air balloon launches are very much weather and wind direction/strength dependent.
Mostly they launch around dawn which is often the coolest or stillest time of day.
Due to the unpredictable nature of hot air balloon launches and dispersal of the
balloons, we decided not to chase balloons but rather remained at the original launch
site to watch the various preparations, inflations, enjoy a hot breakfast done by the
Belconnen Lions Club and enjoy the sights.
