Methodist Church From Rich Mountain Road

Cades Cove - Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Built in 1902 by the late John D. McCampbell, pastor of the church for many years. McCampbell, who was also a carpenter, reportedly built the church which features two front doors -- the left one for women and children, the other for men -- in 115 days at a cost of $155,

A log building served the congregation from the 1820s until the frame building was erected. Beside the church is a burial ground.
