KVMR Celtic Festival 2007 - Grass Valley

We haven't been to this festival for 2 years and I don't know if we will return. The
organization, KVMR, the vendors and performers are all excellent but a few members of the audience are why we may never go back.
We shouldn't have to deal with rudeness, we just want to hang out and listen to music.

My good Lady, It is well met that you had a good time at the festival. Grass Valley is one of my favorite fairs that my guild doth do in the season. We have a fantastic time each year we do attend. I never seem to run into rude people, but then I not have time to sit and listen in the front of the festival. Our court is directly behind the main stage, and we hear it as we attend the Queen all day. The vendors and guilds that perform are most wonderous. I would like to invite thee to attend with us next year in the shire behind the stage. Come to court, visit the fairy forest, and come to market. We will make sure you are treated most courteous. You can even be presented to meet her Majesty. Hi Ben, Were you the guy who took surveys, wore a kilt and sat by the lady with a huge smile? If so we were to the left of you, second row back. It was just a really weird day and my husband and I are still bugged. And wondering what lesson we are supposed to be learning from this! But really I guess we'll just move on. We weren't "down in front" folks. Everyone who's attended the event before know that the last few songs of the night are filled with wild and crazy dancing. That wasn't our issue. We aren't used to getting in verbal altercations and it was weird that each of us got in one with two separate individuals. Glad you enjoy the photos, I'll be posting more. Cheryl

Cheryl: I think other than the rude "down in front" folks, it was a wonderful crowd. I was the tall white haired guy with the Sony Pocket Digital Camera. I think I was near you a few times if you were using a Rebel. I don't think other than from those folks I had any problems. But one person WAS really rude. Might've been the Guinness? Hope you'll come back next year. Thanks for the photos! BEN

Guest: that's what we always thought about the festival. It is usually a fun event. The only reason we haven't attended is because we've been going to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco which is either the week of or one week after the Celtic Festival. We missed this event and decided to attend just one day this year. This year was different and it wasn't because we were having a bad day. We just wanted to enjoy but for some reason beyond anything we did, we weren't able to.

We have attended this event for the last three years and it is one of the events the whole family enjoys. There sometimes seems to be a person that is having a bad day but that doesn't keep us away or from having a fun time. I just wish we could spend more time there. The acts are all wonderful and the booths and the people in them are always courteous and always willing to share some tidbit of information that helps to embellish both the items for sale and the overall atmosphere. We'll be back.

My husband sells at this fair and has for years; I help but I also am walking around in the crowd frequently, and I have never had any encounters with rude people. We have always thought this was one of the best festivals we could attend. In my experience, people are very friendly and polite, although as in any large number of people, there is no doubt always going to be the one or two to give it a bad name.
