This is a pretty populated area with gorgeous beaches being the main attraction. However, there are a couple of nearby areas for good bird photography, notably Estero Lagoon right on the Gulf behind a Holiday Inn, and Corkscrew Sanctuary. We managed to get some decent bird images at Estero, including some Wood Storks at close range, but got only a few images at Corkscrew. We also had fun with our Golden Retriever, Sunny, at the one beach that allowed dogs! It ain't all birds!!
