Auberge Ravoux

Auvers-sur-Oise, France

When Vincent Van Gogh was released from an asylum in St Remy in May of 1890,
he moved to Auvers-sur-Oise and rented a room at this inn. He painted quite a few
landscapes here and seemed to be doing well under the care of a local doctor,
but on July 27, 1890 he shot himself in the chest and died 2 days later.
