Tater Tot*

Tater Tot is a friendly, very smart, and attentive 2 year-old male Dingo/Cattle Dog. He had a leg injury as a puppy and has completed surgery and rehab while living in a foster care for the past year. He takes anti-inflammatory meds, averaging $75/ yr. He is now able to hike on groomed trails, six-eight miles a couple of times per week.
Tater is very quiet and enjoys lounging around in the sun on the deck/ fireplace. He is house trained and is great company in the car, home, or office. He does not bark much, but obviously was impressed with the GEICO Pig ‘Max” and feels it is his duty to talk (squeal) to everyone on the sidewalk while you kindly drive him down Main St. Maybe you have heard him around town? He is quiet on the highway, unless you have failed to roll his window down only enough for that head and ears to get some air.
Tater is a quick learner and wants only to please a respectful companion. He is voice command responsive and walks well on/off leash. He can heel, stop, sit, stay, combat crawl, play dead, etc. However, he is easily distracted by dogs, chipmunks, or squirrels, which are squishy and edible, chew toys. He doesn’t have much interest and is a little nervous around children. If they were respectful of his past he would most likely be a great pal for an older child, but certainly not where he might get kicked, pulled, bumped, or stepped on- in which case he will nip if frightened. He was obviously hurt by humans and will be a bit distrustful of them for the remainder of his long life.
Tater can be a bit dominant with other dogs, but settles in quickly after proper introduction. He does not do well around any raised voices or yelling; he will pee on your floor he thinks you are yelling at him. However, he is not afraid of loud noises (thunder, gun shots, power tools, trucks, etc.). Tater does not understand that cars are dangerous so a leash and/or fenced yard is a MUST around vehicles. He thinks cars bring people for him to run up to and greet.
