Labor Day, September 5, 2005 I left with 10 others from Nashville one week after the hurricane to help with relief in Slidell, Louisiana. Slidell is one of the worst-hit suburbs of New Orleans on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain.

We stayed one week, working as a chain saw crew cutting trees from yards in Slidell. The Tennessee Baptist Convention Disaster Relief coordinated the location and work of our Nashville Baptist Association crew and equipment trailer. Most of us were members of First Baptist Nashville.

We slept on the floor of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Slidell and later at First Baptist Church of Covington. These photos are posted for other team members to download and print as you wish.
