It appears that Charlie Fleming has spent a lot of time staking out various waders using wooden posts at Turf, Devon, as perches. His patience and persistence have finally paid off with this lovely shot of a Dunlin trying to dislodge another from this prime position.

Shooting with a 500mm lens and a 1.4× converter Charlie used ISO 1250 to obtain a 1/6400th second shutter speed to freeze the action; the plain blue background leaves your eye free to follow the bird and wonder if it was actually successful in its exploits.
