Can anyone tell me when Charlie passed away? Perhaps his profile could be updated to reflect that information.

I just learned of Charlie's passing and my heart and prayers go out to his family. I worked with Charlie for several years at Florida Production Engineering and admire his knowledge, skills, abilities and council. They just don't come any better.

I was lucky enough to be a friend of Charlie. I went on many photography trips with him and one of THE best was up to Homer, Ak. We had a trip of a life-time photographing Bald Eagles. RIP Charlie

Charlie was my best friend! We shared several common interests: environmental conservation, cars, photography and birding. When we met, we seemed to bond immediately and our friendship lasted for more than 30 years. Our photography adventures took us to such diverse places as the Platte River in Nebraska, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Texas ranch country, Arizona's Sonoran Desert, British Columbia, Panama, and all over Florida, including my favorite birding photography site, the Viera Wetlands. Many miles and thousands of photographs later, we remained close. Charlie was smart, kind, funny, a great photographer and a dedicated family man...the nicest person I have ever known!

Charlie, as a friend and neighbor, we will miss you greatly. You have been so generous by sharing your exquisite photos with all of us. We have gained a great deal of knowledge by crossing paths with you. Thanking you for all of that and more.

Charlie, you have been an inspiration to many of us, including myself. Thank you for showing me the ropes, and it was a pleasure working with you! Rest in peace my friend.

Charlotte and Family: Somtimes you don't realize how much someone influenced your life until they are not there. Charlie left such a legacy. He so graciously, generously, and humbly shared his knowledge of wildlife and photography. He was the one who organized and kept our group of "wetland rangers/closers" active for a long time. And he contributed in so many other volunteer activities to honor the wetlands of Viera. I learned so much from him, always enjoyed seeing and working with him. I feel his spirit when I am at the wetlands and will always recall and miss his presence. Charlotte, we know you were also large part of Charlie's contributions and activities at the wetlands. Peace and Love to all of you.

Charlie was a kind soul, honest and caring man, a great photographer and most of all something I hold dear to my heart a true friend and I will surely miss him. We have shared many fun times together and I feel like I have lost my dad for the second time. His spirit will continue to surround us at the wetlands.

Charlie was a model of quiet wisdom, kind sharing, and artistic ability. We are lucky to have had you to capture, share, and explain the sights at Viera Wetlands.

Like so many others, I met Charlie Corbeil at the Viera Wetlands. After Charlie and his wife Charlotte moved to Suntree, he quickly discovered the ponds at the sewage processing facility as an outstanding wildlife photography location. Charlie was almost always present at the Viera Wetlands, and he was always willing to answer questions like “Where is the Masked Duck?”

I loved your interest in Wildlife photography and I knew if I had a question concerning wildlife at or the wetlands, you would be the person to have the answers. 'Thank you! Charlie.' May you rest in Peace. You'll always be remembered. My heart-felt Prayers to your family and friends.

We've been watching these comical birds on the water behind our home in Grand Isle not knowing until reading your article in the Viera Voice. This is not the first time we have thought to thank you for your interesting articles but they have become something I rely on and look forward to in each edition. Thank you VERY much.

Charlie, we live on a lake in Suntree, and have observed a strange type of water bird that I have never seen before. It is a type of duck with red or dark orange feet and bill. Body is dark brown with a white horizontal stripe on the side. Head is either light gray or brown. Doesn't quack like a duck, but has a high chirp. I took pictures of a group of 6 or 8 that was on the bank of our side of the lake. What would they be? Liked your recent article on Coots.

Thanks for sharing your gift. Always looking forward to your article in the Viera newspaper

I look forward to your photos and comments on the area wildlife in the the Viera Voice. Your photos are great! I was wondering if you take them at a specific time of the day? I have been to the wetlands frequently, but don't seem to see the exciting things that you do!

Charlie:

I saw your show on Focus (I have been a guest also) and I thought your photographs are beautiful. I am a wildlife painter and I am interested in getting your permissiosn to use some of your photos as reference. Please email me so that I can tell you more about myself and show you some of my work. I also travel to Gatorland frequently and visit the wetlands. My artwork was also at the birding festival. Jeanette

Dan Click and I (both from the Utility Services Department)met you today while seeking the elusive Masked duck. Thank you for pointing out the bird, and for sharing your website with us. These wetlands have been a challenge to manage, but your photos prove how valuable the rewards can be. Awesome photos!
