The Madness
(03.02.05)

A little turn from my usual. After visiting many post today, I thought I would set the record straight. March is not about lions and lambs... it's about rivalry in college basketball. I post this knowing the Tarheel, Slug, could shut my pbase account down. The rivalry between UNC and Duke runs that deep. Students at Duke camp out for months, in tents, in the winter, to get tickets to the UNC-Duke game. This weekend is the final showdown between the two with Duke having won the first round. After that, it's on to the ACC tournament and then March Madness! It's doubtful Duke will make it to the end this year, but I'm loving it just the same. March is the absolute best sports month of the year!!! Tonight, I just figured out why the Duke logo is on a curve.

Added a few days later: Duke lost the game, 75 to 73 but what a game! Both teams played spectacular ball.

It is indeed madness this month - one of the greatest months of the year! Forget about October, January and June - it's March!

Go WASHINGTON!!!!!

Don't see the appeal in basketball myself, but can certainly understand sporting rivalry! Nice tale, LC. It's always nice to hear what people in different countries get up to. BTW - I like the new style-sheet. I hope the best team wins / won!

Being a Jayhawk myself, I never really liked Duke....that is until Roy Williams went to Carolina.....Coach K all the way except when they play KU!

I always feel guilty when I have to say that I do not care a lick for football. I like your picture though :)

I didn't know Duke had a basketball team...:-) Born and raised in Kentucky but, I did spend a couple years working in Greensboro, North Carolina. Duke and NC were more important than stock car racing!
I live about 70 miles from University of Kentucky so I guess you know the rest of the story..:P
Nice editing!
