Each year, on the first weekend of December, there is a large celebration in Williamsburg known as the Grand Illumination with fireworks, parades and plenty else. The place is mobbed. Among the many things that occur, there is a competition of decorations in the Colonial Village (no lights or glitter). Here are some of this year's entries taken today, and a few from previous years to round out the lot. I was inspired by Karen Leaf's wonderful image that was posted a few weeks ago, and thought I would give it a whirl. This is my first draft. The images are taken from this gallery. http://www.pbase.com/charette/wreaths |
