Located beside the Great Pyramid of Cheops - Giza , this large wooden boat was built during the Old Kingdom.
It was then disassembled and buried for many centuries.
It was discovered in the recent past, and reassembled for display in the Solar Boat Museum.
Another similar boat is still in situ.
These boats were used to ferry the soul of the deceased Pharoah to the afterlife.
