This Egyptian goddess Nephthys is shown with her arms in a worshipping gesture.
It looks as though she is telling the photographer to "back off" with the camera !
She is made of wood, and dates from the 22nd Dynasty, ca 945-715 BCE.
Like many ancient objects in museums, she is encased in a sealed glass box to prevent deterioration
and damage due to foot traffic dust and the breath of thousands of visitors.
