Inside the mosque, the high ceiling is lined with mostly blue tiles which give the mosque its name.
The tiles in the galleries and north wall are original 16th-century Iznik design, and feature floriate and abstract patterns.
Other tiles made elsewhere have a less delicate design.
The windows originally held 17th c. glass, but most of this has been lost and replaced with replicas or clear glazing.
Originally the floor was covered with prayer rugs, but these have now been replaced with carpeting as seen here.
