AFGHANISTAN 1969

It was in 1969. From Iran, During few months I went to Herat, Kandahar, Ghazni, Kaboul, Mazar-I-Charif and finaly Bamiyan and Band-I-Amir. I this time, Afghanistan lived in peace. It was before arriving URSS army and now occidental armies in war against Al-Qaida and some Pachtoun peoples. It was the « fault » of Joseph Kessel and his book « Les cavaliers » if I would like to go in this wild country. I never forget Band-I-Amir, proud riders, Bouddhas of Bamiyan and Hazarat people in this part of Afghanistan. Just a few pictures to remember this quiet time.

Heureusement que les photos sont là pour montrer les magnifiques paysages des lieux désormais interdits sur la planète...
C'est en regardant ces photos que j'ai eu envie de lire les cavaliers de Kessel il y a très longtemps ....
