A low perennial plant, growing on the ground, the leaves are dark green, shiny.. loves shadow.. The colour of the flower may be different, due to the ground.

It's periwinkle here too ... pretty, but rather an aggressive nuisance in our garden.

This little Vinca Minor is one of my favourite plants, partly because they bloom early in the Spring. So lovely after the cold and snowy winter:o)

These are the flowers of our vinca minor, a wonderful ground cover, that, as you note, grows in the shade under my big maple tree.
