I tend to like macro work because people say, "Wow, I never realized it looked like that." Also, it's somewhat technically challenging with less need for an artistic component. Those requirements fit me well. Also, for a lot of this stuff, I don't need to travel farther than the backyard or the kitchen sink. Much easier than getting to a National Park or a Himalayan sunset.
