This is the rig used for this series. Note the fancy rubber band employed to hold the hood in place--hey, the lens is old, but it's very sharp. The flash is oriented low and forward to get clean illumination under the tree's canopy where I was shooting. The benefit of positioning forward aids the reach of the illumination. I was shooting at f11 thru f16 at half power, so it's better to get the light close to the action.
The 36mm Kenko extension is visible between the lens and body. The outfit is simple, although it it a bit ungainly.
The rig was on a tripod for the series, and this is another one of those configurations that my wife isn't too thrilled with me venturing into the front yard with!
