Wow great shot! The exposure is perfect creating a marvellous mood with the lighting. Also I love how the peak in the foreground is repeated behind it self then again that peak is repeated then again that peak is repeated thus creating a wonderful curved imaginary line that takes me into the image and right to the setting sun and the and the beautiful landscape below it. My eye just does not leave this image!

You have created a breathtaking landscape vision with this image, Celia. The undulating foreground abstracts the scene, leading to a perfect evening sky, laced with clouds that echo the shimmering landscape below it. A perfect vantage point on a perfect evening. This image is so beautiful that it seems at first to be a composite. You seldom get a sun, sky, and landscape so perfectly in the same shot. But knowing your ethics, this would not be a composite, or you would have said so in the caption. Smoldering is a good title -- the haze suggests smoke, the sun fire, the hills that flow over the horizon imply infinity. The work of man is nowhere present. You give us a memorable portrait of nature itself.
