Malaysia Pengerang Johor

Only 45 minutes boat trip from Changi Point Jetty (same one for Pulau Ubin)S$10 to and Rm10 (7am to 12noon) and S$10 after that. From the Malaysian jetty, take a taxi Rm20 for 4 to Sungei Ringgit.Hotel rooms cost only Rm60 for 2 and seafood is excellent and cheap (you must try the butter lobster and the mee goreng) Good for a 7am to 3pm trip and cycling.There are planning a bridge over to Pengarang and then you can drive over in 90 minutes instead of the present 3 hours it takes to drive there taking the land route from the Singapore Causeway.

Thank you for these beautiful pictures. I miss Pengerang. Was there in 1954/55 when I was 5 y.o. It was very quiet then, and full of commies. After dark we never were not allowed out (not even downstairs) - fear of wild animals, commies, etc. But life was very blissful otherwise. Still remember my swing under the rambutan tree. Boat rides to Changi were memorable - the sea so clear and blue but often choppy. Even then the fresh fish, prawns, crabs were to die for! Have not been back since.

Yes stalls here not very cheap but it is cheaper than in Singapore and as time goes by it gets more ex. Again agree some restaurant are average but there are others thats pretty good and value for money. Also agree that the beach may be littered but thats what the old world charm is all about.

sorry, wat you write here is not quite correct, eg, the food of some stall or restaurant are really average, seafood are also not very cheap, river or beach may also littered ...
