Very nice shot. I liked your explaination of what the photo was of. I will look out for the sighting, however we have a lot of ground light around here and it is hard to see the stars.
My initial caption indicating the moon's companion was Jupiter was wrong. This is Venus, and Jupiter can be seen rising in the southeast sky after 10pm.
I noticed the bright star in the sky too but didn't know at the time what it was.

Thank you for this explanation. When I looked at the moon tonight, I noticed this start for the first time ever. I did not know it was Jupiter. I guess it is apparent only certains times of the year. Can anyone comment? Txs! :C) V.
