This is just a beautiful photograph. It's one that looks so clean and simple that it looks like it must have been easy to create. Yet I'm just experienced enough to know how difficult it would really be to duplicate it.

I especially like the soft reflections on the surface of the bulb.

I never thought I'd be saying this about a light bulb, but this is beautiful.

Thanks guys :) The clock may be an hour off. This was shot in the evening. The exposure was set for the filaments to be slightly overexposed and fill flash was bounced off a white foam core board to bring out the glass center stalk. Lastly, in PS, the glass stalk was selected to a layer set to "Screen" at about 30% opacity to lighten it up a touch more. - Mike

Well controlled exposure of thsi difficult subject. I've tried similar shots with no success. I suspect you shot it in some daylight? (Is your clock right 17:57?)

Beautifully done. Very subtle.

very nicely done--but you "stole" my idea. Darn. Now I'll have to think of something else.....:O)
