Short-Eared Owl.
I and several other people were watching for this owl and I had driven to another area of the reservation when driving along the guardrail near the camp grounds along the water, I saw this owl sitting just ahead on my right. Being on the passenger side of my van, I did not have an open shot without shooting through the windshield. I slowly got out and stood with the driver's door open, only about 30 feet from the owl and took photos. He sat there turning his head towards and away from me several times and each time he turned towards me his pupils pinned smaller.I think this photo has kind of a water color look to it.
