Moon CRW_1031 small.jpg

Moon has what I am calling a halo around it. I would like to get a clear sharp picture of the moon. I used a tripod and chose the best of all the shots I took at the same time.

The good old Sunny 16 rule works well for the moon - the exposure should be 1/ISO if you set the f/ stop to f/16. The moon is darker than 18% grey, so maybe just a stop of extra exposure would be nearly perfect. The "Moony 11", I suppose. Of course, the trees in this shot would be way under exposed. - Jim.
