The lighting to me was simple enough: I just stood by the window here at home.
And yet even this rather simple side, diffuse window lighting can be adequate enough
for portrait making, just so long as the end result seems to show a lack of clutter
within the frame space, and a good play of "light against dark and dark against light."
And in this particular case, the camera technicalities were about as simple as
the lighting: a relatively humble 50mm lens, and a desire for good visual
separation between subject matter and background (...which in this case meant a
shallow depth-of-field... and that decision meant the employing of a wide
aperture for the shot).
LOL, yes, I know it perhaps all sounds quite wordy. But contrary to the usual
idea of something being "easier said than done", this is one of those cases where
it's actually very, very much "easier done than said". Then again, if I used less
words, some might mockingly suspect the writer of this script here is not me. :-)
