I always thought this old snap of my dad (second from our left) and
his friends looked like a scene from a gangster movie.

In my mind it goes like this..
Johnny C (my dad) and his
Consigleri are out from the East Coast "consortium" to explain
how it is gonna go

... Johnny C and his "associates" are taking all of the west
side and most of the rest.. The two men on the right are West
Coast made guys. the big blond guy, being the muscle...

I don't know what happened next..

The blond guy, was my dad's lifelong buddy, Larry Burton.
He was an L.A. Cop.. They were friends before my dad met my
mother. Larry and my dad were always at the beach, throwing
a football (or Larry was at the track..he loved the horses)..
When I was small,I went with them a few times to Hollywood Park.
It was like another movie..with all these guys (race track touts,
I think is the term) coming up to give Larry tips...

By some strange or not, bit of fate, Larry left this earth
in May of l998, and my dad followed him in July. I like to
think they still toss the football ...
