Harkos aka my big Chocolate Bunny.

Harkos is a Friesian. A breed classified as a Draft horse. I think they are quite elegant with their high stepping knee action and lively prancing gaits. They are quite suited for Dressage work.
In the beginning they were used primarily as carriage horses. The breed is all black, although a tiny white star is permitted in between the eyes; thus making it simple to have a stunning matching team.
They are cold blooded as compared to the warm blood or hot blood of the Arabian,Thoroughbred, and various other types. Draft horses' hearts beat at a slower rate, and they do not get that second wind the warmer blooded ones achieve. That is not to say they are softies, just that they will not race across the desert for days. They are intelligent and learn quickly, with temperments that are easy going, curious minds that enjoy people (at least my Harkos seems to).
Harkos came all the way from the Netherlands,and his Passport is so cute; all adorned with little red hearts %:). His looks are so dark and dramatic, yet if he spoke English it would be not with a romantic Latin accent but with an interesting Dutch one..smile%:)
