NIKON 10.5MM AF f/2.8 G IF-ED Fisheye Lens

Curious about the 10.5mm AF 2.8 IF-ED Fisheye? Here are some examples taken with a Nikon D70. I do have the Nikon software that will allow you to stretch the image, but so far I've enjoyed the rounded look. Here's what the manufacturer has to say: "The AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED, an important addition to the DX Nikkor lens lineup, the first fisheye lens designed specifically for digital SLR photography is also the first to achieve a full-frame 180 degree picture angle. The ultra-wideangle focal length of 10.5mm brings digital camera users a picture angle equivalent to that of a 16mm fisheye lens on a 35mm [135] format camera."

These are great shots! After viewing these images yesterday, I over-nighted the lens, and it will be here today! I do have one question for those using this lens - there appears to be more "arc" in some of the photos, especially those below, than in others. Is there a reason for this? Are the images simply cropped, or is it just a change of subject?

Awesome photos, though! I just got word that it has been delivered!

Fantastic images, I have just got back from Moscow with my new D70s with 18-55mm lens which I thought would be wide enough, but your shots prove just how wrong I was, especially the interiors. Guess I know where my bonus is going. I'm looking forward to some fun this summer!

I am just not sure if it REALY does capture 180 degrees, I have anikon D50, it seems that it capturs about 170° but is okay, the results are stunning!

Nice work especially your creative angles. I just bought this lens and have it on my Nikon D50. I have noticed that it states it only works with the D70 thru- D200. Do you forsee there being anything wrong with having it on my D50? I mean it fits and everything but I just still wanted to make sure. Also is it because the D50 just came out that it's not listed in the instruction manuels?

I really enjoied your fisheye collection. I am pondering the 10.5 and the 12 - 24 and can not seem to reach a conclusion. Buying both is too expensive. I love your flair with the fisheye and find it persuasive. Thanks for posting your images for others to view.

Your pics are amazing,what an eye, I live in East Sooke and can appreciate and expound on the beauty and wonder of our home. I have spent many a morning (7am) sitting on beachy head watching the whales and sealions. Myself I have a D70, also a D1x and still am in debate on which I prefer.......I really think the D1X, it is SO solid and forgiving which one needs when actually using a camera. The D70 is the first camera I have ever owned that is like carrying a moisture sensitive egg around. I have one of these 10.5 mm lenses on hold at Kerridale. Cannot wait to get my paws on it. Also have a Nikonos 3 if you ever wish to borrow it. They truly do not come more indestructable than that
