Where to Photograph Wolves

I have yet to see a wolf in the wild; however, I'm told there are some in Stratchona Park. You can see captive wolves in two places around Vancouver: Grouse Mountain has retired wolves that used to be used in motion pictures. The Vancouver Zoo also has a closed off jurassic-park type of area (several acres featuring herds of elk, deer, coyote and wolves) where you can see the wolves out the bus window.

Hello Christina

First, congratulation for this great page.

Second, if you like to take some pics from wolves, go to Golden BC and visit the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre (www.northernlightswildlife.com).
I was there this fall and we 'rent' Wiley and Maya for a photosession. It was great.
But don't choose a weekend-day or holidays for a photosession, the good spots are crowded and so you have to choose a 'not so nice place'. And be shure that Wiley is one of the wolves, he is so 'handsome' and you can touch him after the session. ;-D

See some pics from this sesson in my profile:http://www.pbase.com/hegnerkonrad

Wish you always good pics an fun at your phototrips
Best Regards Konrad

If you are lucky you may see wild wolf very early in the morning cross the main highway south of Tofino. Look for track exiting forest, park up and wait (alternatively keep driving up and down). If you stay in vehicle they don't seem too bothered. If you leave vehicle they are off before you can say Tofino.
