Trip to Mount LeConte, November 2002

All photos in this gallery were taken during a three day trip to the lodge located on top of Mount LeConte in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The highest summit of this mountain (it has three)is at 6590' ASL, making it the second highest point in the eastern United States. During the trip, we hiked the Appalachian Trail to the Boulevard trail, which summits LeConte. After two nights stay at the lodge, we descended via the Alum Cave trail.

AWESOME PHOTOS GUYS!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE LODGE-BUT I WILL BE THIS SUMMER....WE ARE CAMPING AND STAYING AT THE LODGE. WE CANT WAIT--LOVE THE PICS. LOOKS LIKE IT'S WELL WORTH THE EFFORT TO GET THERE.....THANKS FOR THE MOTIVATION!!!!

Awesome gallery! I was on the 2000 crew at the lodge. I wasn't able to make it up LeConte in 2002 so it was good to see it. The only bad thing was it made me miss it... A LOT!
