Mount Chephren, as seen from Waterfowl Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. No colors have been altered in this image. The extreme blue of the water is a result of suspended silt deposits, ground up stone being dumped into the lake by the crushing weight of the local glaciers. When the sunlight refracts off of the water, it makes it this great shade of blue. All of the area lakes and streams are this color. I shot this image on Fuji Velvia 100 film. The original slide image is truly spectacular. This is the digital scan of that original slide.
