This was not just the sunrise for the day...but also the sunrise on our life together. I had asked Janice to marry me less than 10 minutes before at around 4:55 in the morning after a mile hike in the dark from the Mount LeConte shelter, along the edge of huge cliffs. The clouds kindly opened up just long enough to capture the sun rising over the main ridge of the Smoky Mountains, in the background. What a beautiful scene at a very special place.
