I was in the cave once when it started to rain and it poured for hours. We waited in the mouth for it to slow but it did not. We topped the hill in front of the mouth to find the damn Mississippi river raging where there was bone dry rock hours earlier. We used our wits and our outdoor skill to bushwack our way back to the car but the water rose so quicly we had to climb up and away making it harder to trace a path back to the sign and the car. I am so glad i can now show people what it was we went through.

Unbelievable flood pix. I had know idea of the flood potential in the area. I was in TAG the week before and was contemplating visiting Camp's Gulf Cave. Doc Allen

Fantastic photos of the flooding! I would never have guessed that the water would get that deep in the entrance pasage.
