Mountain Goat Rescue

I was taking pictures on Brean Down - a steep peninsula in the Bristol Channel - when the Mountain Rescue team showed up with two vehicles full of climbing gear. It seems that a wild goat had fallen off the top of the Down, and was stuck on a narrow ledge on the cliff-face. I was in a great position to photograph the climbers from above, and then when they were out of sight over the cliff-edge, from the bottom of the Down as they got close to the stranded goat.

The ending was a happy one, if a bit anti-climactic: the goat was uninjured in spite of its 50 foot fall, and as the climbers got close, it managed to get itself down a 20 foot vertical cliff, and ran off to join its friends on the grassy slopes.
