This is a band Mel & I went to see at a local neighborhood bar, called The Locker Room, in Madison, WI. The bar is just a small out of the way place with a very eclectic group of patrons, most of which seemed to know each other. The band "The Rollin Rock Band" are a group of five guys (only four played this night, who average age is the mid 50's. Jeff with his "Magic Flute, Maynard on lead guitar, Rick the drummer, and Ben the Bass player, put out some swift tunes from 70's& 80's rock, and some awesome Blues. Jeff, you would swear sang for some of the big rock bands of the 70's. He hits notes that are phenomenal. The tunes were all memorable, and the Flute addition to old standards makes for great sounds. Maynard can flat out jam on lead, while Rick kicks a great beat on the drums. Ben, well Ben is fantastic thumpin' that bass. We enjoyed the sets, and stayed to the end. The Locker Room has the atmosphere of a place you can just go hang. Try the spicy wings (not as spicy as I like, but a great deal for $6.00 bucks. All in all for about $25.00 we got drinks, wings, and great tunes for about three hours. We look forward to seeing this band around the area.
