Pindangan is the old name of San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines. The name came from the word "Pindang" which is a traditional way of drying fish. Pindangan was formed in 1759 and the name was changed to San Fernando in 1850. On February 13, 1998, the town became a component city of La Union. It is now fast growing city north of the Philippines.
