Sandra Stevenson, BFA Fine Artist, is joining the Carr's Landing Art Stroll for the first time in 2011. Please visit her studio at 16699 Carr's Landing Road. Sandra Stevenson has recently moved to Carr’s Landing from Edmonton, Alberta. She has been making art since, as a small child, she was first given wax crayons. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design from the University of Alberta in 1994 she has drawn and painted non stop. An intuitive painter, she is currently exploring the possibilities of acrylic paint using images taken from bridal and fashion magazines. These images provide a neutral starting point from which the painting becomes, not a perfect rendering of the photograph, but rather a story told in colour, shape and line. Tremendously influenced by nature, she is very excited by the Okanagan landscape and looks forward to seeing its influence in her work.
