Another month another insect pik, but we are lucky to still have a garden brimming with life, apart from the heavy storm which we are having now, where I managed to capture a pik of a very soggy bee!
The image is of a cuckoo bumble bee which lays its eggs in another nest, they have no pollen baskets and there are no workers as they rely on the nest of the hostworkers to look after their young!
They can be found on thistles and knapweed.
