Each morning during this very cold snap, I have been checking the front storm door for frost patterns. Since it faces east, I have to work fast if there is sun. On this morning the sun was just peaking through, but the background came out blue! I think it's because the dead plants in my garden had no light on them yet so they produced the blue shadow. I love the contrast between the blue and the ice. Each day the patterns have been very different. I have maybe five minutes before it all melts. My cat is at the bottom of the door licking the melting water.
