This is what you do to amuse yourself when it's your turn to watch your garden club's booth at the state fair. My friend and I were minding the booth and we'd brought our point and shoot cameras rather than our dslrs. Across from the booth was the gladiola exhibit. I decided to try some slow-mo impressionist stuff and she got excited and wanted to try too. We'd switch back and forth trying to shoot the flowers with one person always at the booth. (We weren't all that busy answering garden questions.) After our stint in the booth, we spent the next two hours perfecting our technique for impressionistic flowers. We tried it on the fruit and vegetables and anything else that looked interesting. We had a blast! Doing this with a point and shoot was hard since I work almost exclusively with my Nikon D300. There were many times I wish I'd brought my big camera.
