Although most visitors only see Nemrut Dag at sunrise, I enjoyed the sunset better than the sunrise after experiencing both in one day. The sunset colors on the west side of the tumulus were much prettier as everything turned pink and gold. Another advantage was that it was much warmer than sunrise, although we had been prepared for the chilly weather in August.
I took this shot of the basalt lion on the east side before heading to the west.
